Alumni Named Our City San Diego’s Litigators of the Year

SAN DIEGO (JUNE 29, 2017) - The Our City San Diego Magazine announced its annual “Litigators of the Year” list, honoring emerging developers, brokers, lawyers, and public officials who are helping to shape San Diego’s future. Included in the list are University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumni Jeffrey L. Hogue, ’04 (JD), Debra J. Wyman, ’97 (JD), Brian E. Watkins, ’97 (JD), and David Casey, Jr, ’74 (JD).

Hogue is a partner in the San Diego office of Hogue & Belong. Hogue’s practice includes employment, class actions personal injury, sexual harassment and real estate law. Hogue also has successfully litigated several products liability and premises liability cases, resulting in large monetary awards.

Wyman specializes in securities litigation and has litigated numerous cases against public companies in state and federal courts. She has been named a Top Women Lawyer by the Daily Journal, a Litigator of the Year by Our City San Diego, and has been a Super Lawyer for the past two consecutive years.

Watkins has extensive trial experience in both criminal and civil matters. Watkins represents clients in cases involving white-collar crimes, fraud and embezzlement, domestic violence, possession and sales of drugs, and driving under the influence. He also handles probation violations and expungements.

Casey specializes in serious personal injury, wrongful death, products liability and serious head injury/brain trauma. Over a nearly 40-year legal career, he served as a president of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (now American Association for Justice) – the world’s largest trial bar –and has been lauded with more than 60 professional awards.
