USD Law Alumni Christopher B. Harmon '00 (JD) Named Superior Court Judge

Christopher B. Harmon

Sacramento (June 19, 2014) – California Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. appointed University of San Diego (USD) School of Law alumni Christopher B. Harmon, '00 (JD), to a judgeship in Riverside County Superior.

A sole practitioner since 2013, Harmon previously served as executive director and trial attorney at Criminal Defense Lawyers from 2003-14. He was partner at Harmon and Harmon from 2000-13. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from USD School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from University of Southern California. He fills the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Jean Pfeiffer Leonard.

Harmon has been practicing in the area of criminal and DUI defense for more than a decade. He has defended a variety of cases, including death penalty cases, white-collar and corporate cases, and large drug conspiracy cases.

Harmon served in every board and executive level position within the Riverside County Bar Association, including as its president from 2012-13. He served on the Lawyer Referral Service Board, the Judicial Evaluation Committee, and the Criminal Law Section as its chair. Harmon received several awards, including Best Lawyers in 2009 and Super Lawyers in 2011.
