This is your USD News Minute.

The new Palomar Health Student Wellness Center is officially open! A ribbon cutting and dedication event was held last Tuesday before opening the doors to the Torero community. The wellness center is open from 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on the weekends. 

Tuesday also kicked off  a ‘Year of Wellness.’ at USD. Student ambassadors will educate the campus community on all of the university’s wellness resources followed by community-wide events to help promote a healthy mind, body and soul – because USD begins with US. 

A group of students passionate about the environment also met with Congresswoman Sara Jacobs last week. The group shared their concerns and thoughts on sustainability with the congresswoman who represent’s California's 51st Congressional District.

And, finally we congratulate our 2025 President for a Day, Cristian St. Clair, from the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering. St. Clair, who is passionate about student belonging and wellbeing on our campus, was selected after a very competitive application process. He will swap places with President Harris on May 7th.
