This is your USD News Minute.

We are excited to announce that Dr. Brian Tietje has been named the next dean of the Knauss School of Business. He will start his new role on July 1. Tietje is the current dean at the College of Business at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. 

The new Palomar Health Student Wellness Center is officially opening on Tuesday, April 22. Don’t miss the dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony at noon, followed by an opportunity to check out all of the new spaces inside. Students can participate in an interactive scavenger hunt through the wellness center and gather free swag along the way. The three-story, 80,000 square-foot facility, along with another 69,000 square feet of outdoor space, sets a new standard for inclusive wellness resources. Check out the link for more information. 

And, congratulations to USD alum Jonny Kim who became the first Korean-American astronaut to go to space. Kim arrived at the International Space Station last week and is serving as a flight engineer and crew member of NASA’s Expedition 73 mission.
