This is your USD News Minute.
Last week, several science clubs at USD attended the Festival of Science and Engineering at Petco Park. USD students interacted with kids who visited their booth, showcasing exciting science experiments to inspire their curiosity in STEM.
Philanthropist and Chair Emerita Darlene Marcos Shiley was named a 'Top 50' philanthropist by The Chronicle of Philanthropy. In November, Shiley announced a record-breaking pledge to USD that will advance our STEM education programs on campus.
Meanwhile, USD President James Harris was recognized by the Council for Advancement and Support of Education, earning the Executive Leadership Award for the group’s western district.
And speaking of the president – YOU could be USD’s President for a Day this spring. It’s your chance to swap places with President Harris, learning what it’s like to lead a university for a day while President Harris takes your classes. Applications are now open, the deadline to apply is April 4th. Visit the website to learn more.
Thank you for watching, we’ll see you next week.
