Steve Pultz honored by National Catholic College Admission Association

Pultz Award

The National Catholic College Admission Association (NCCAA) has awarded Steve Pultz, USD’s assistant vice president for enrollment management, the organization’s Lifetime Achievement in Catholic Education Award.

The award recognizes professionals with 20 or more years of experience in Catholic college admissions, demonstrated service to promoting the value and benefit of Catholic colleges and universities and have provided leadership and mentorship to admission professionals who are early in their careers. Honorees have also demonstrated a commitment to equity, access, inclusion and uplifting the value of Catholic higher education.

Pultz has over two decades of experience in Catholic education, first as a student working in admissions at St. John’s University and his first role as an admissions counselor at Fordham University. He has held leadership roles with local and national professional organizations, including serving as past president of NCCAA and a board member for both the Western and National Association of College Admission Counselors (WACAC and NACAC).

“Steve exemplifies true leadership in admissions and enrollment. Beyond his professional achievements, his impact extends to mentoring and nurturing the next generation of admissions professionals,” said Minh-Ha Hoang, director of admissions, in Pultz’s nomination letter. “His dedication to mentoring new admission counselors has earned him admiration and respect from countless individuals who have had the privilege of learning from him. Steve’s mentees often speak of his kindness, wisdom, and genuine interest in their professional development, highlighting his profound influence on their careers.”

The award was presented in a ceremony during NCCAA’s Membership Meeting in Los Angeles in September.
