USD School of Law Alumna Vickie Turner ʼ82 (JD) Inducted into Junior Achievement of San Diego Business Hall of Fame

SAN DIEGO (October 9, 2024) – Congratulations to University of San Diego (USD) School of Law Alumna Vickie Turner ʼ82 (JD) who was inducted into the next class of Lifetime Laureates in the Junior Achievement of San Diego Business Hall of Fame. Laureates are individuals in the San Diego community who represent business excellence, inspiring leadership, entrepreneurial achievement, and innovation with a mindfulness toward community and philanthropy. They serve as an inspiration to the next generation of leaders.
Turner, Partner Emeritus at Wilson Turner Kosmo LLP has been recognized as one of the Most Influential Black Lawyers in America and Woman of the Year for the 79th California State Assembly. Turner was named one of San Diego’s top product liability defense attorneys in San Diego Super Lawyers. She was selected as one of the Top 75 Women in Litigators in California by the Los Angeles Daily Journal and for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America in the speciality of product liability litigation.
Throughout her career, Turner has received numerous awards and honors, including Outstanding Trial Lawyer Award from the San Diego Trial Lawyers Association, Outstanding Service to the Legal Profession Award presented by the San Diego County Bar Association, Outstanding Service Award from the National Bar Association, the Frederick Douglass Award by the Earl B. Gilliam Bar Association, and the Phenomenal Woman Award presented by the Ethnic Minority Bar Associations of San Diego County.
She was pivotal to the growth and development of Wilson Turner Kosmo, the largest certified female-owned law firm in San Diego. Retiring in 2021, with 40 years of experience in complex litigation matters filed against corporations, with extensive emphasis in the areas of product liability, class actions, general business litigation and warranty, Turner represented a wide array of companies in the defense of tort and business disputes.
Additionally, she is co-founder and Chair of the Links to STEM program and has served on numerous boards and committees of organizations including Endeavor Bank, National Bar Institute, the UCalifornia San Diego Foundation Board of Trustees, Ford Motor Company, Pathways 2 College, Jack & Jill of America San Diego Chapter, Links Inc. San Diego Chapter, and USD School of Law Board of Visitors.
