This is your USD News Minute.

Congratulations to our women’s volleyball team who are headed to the Sweet 16 for the fifth time in program history and the first time since 2018.  Their next match is against Kentucky in Palo Alto, California in the NCAA Tournament's Regional Semifinal at 5 p.m. on Thursday and will be broadcast on ESPNU. 

Jorge Muniz won the $15,000 first prize at the 2022 Fowler Business Concept Challenge for the “Deck the Palms” project which is a motorized wireless robot that climbs and decorates your palm trees. 

And, congratulations to GET educated, Plant-Based Vendor List and Food Transparency @ USD, who are the team winners of the 2022 Changemaker Challenge. This year’s topic was addressing food justice. 

Copley Library launched its Alumni WORKS 2022 exhibit. It features work from 14 USD alumni artists – including some striking pieces by alumna Nami Kozu-Satow (toe) – and runs through December 16th. 

Also, this is the last week to check out artist and USD faculty member Bill Kelly’s Witness in the Grass exhibit in the Hoehn Family Galleries. 

The Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice will welcome the four women chosen for the Women PeaceMakers Fellowship to share more about their expertise and experience in peacebuilding. That’s at the Kroc School Theatre Tuesday at 7 p.m. 

Yesterday, an Our Lady of Guadalupe celebration was held on campus which a special procession to the Immaculata and a mass. 

And, USD professor Dr. Andrew Tirrell will make his Jeopardy debut tomorrow! You can cheer him on during a special watch party tomorrow at 7:30 at Frank’s Lounge.
