A Celebration of our Common Home

With spring comes the campus bloom, a beautiful reminder of our commitment to our shared environment - our common home. April will bring with it Earth Day 2021, a moment in time to recommit to the need for environmentalism and sustainability initiatives.

As one of the most sustainable campuses in the nation and one of the top 50 green colleges according to Princeton Review, USD is committed to demonstrating through teaching, scholarship, campus culture, and community partnerships our care for all creation by embodying Pope Francis’ urgent call of “Laudato si’”.

Throughout the month of April, please visit the USD News Center for stories profiling sustainability at USD.

In addition to these stories, campus community members will be hosting a variety of events throughout the month to promote awareness. From earning a sustainability certificate through the School of Leadership and Education Sciences and the Office of Sustainability to sharing personal sustainability tips, events will offer participants the opportunity to explore their connection to the environment.
