This is your USD News Minute.

The USD community is excited to welcome Maritza Johnson as the director of a new center in the Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering focused on data science, artificial intelligence and its role in our society.  A USD alumna, Johnson will be responsible for developing the center which has not been named just yet. To learn more about Martiza, you can visit the News Center.

USD’s Student Health Center has received a three-year accreditation by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. This means that USD’s student health center has met nationally recognized standards set by the association. It also distinguishes our Student Health Center from many other outpatient facilities. Congratulations to our Student Health Center team!

And, don’t forget to attend the USD All Faith Service on Thursday. This is the 28th year that the USD community has come together to celebrate our religious diversity as a campus and join together in a prayer for peace. This year's theme is "Embracing Hope: Our Journey to Healing."

As always, thanks for watching. We’ll see you next week.
