Todd Gloria Appoints USD Recent Alumna as Deputy Communications Director

8 appointees of Gloria's executive team

San Diego Mayor-elect Todd Gloria ’00 (BA in history) appointed eight new members to his executive staff on Monday, November 30. In the San Diego Union-Tribune, David Garrick reports, "Gloria, who will replace Kevin Faulconer as San Diego mayor Dec. 10, hailed the appointees as civic-minded professionals who represent the diversity of the city."

One of the eight appointees on Gloria's executive team is USD Alumna Chida Warren-Darby ’19 (BA in communication studies). Gloria announced Warren-Darby as the deputy communications director. 

Warren-Darby is the founder of Black & Magazine and has served as the co-publisher and managing editor of San Diego’s oldest and largest African American newspaper, San Diego Voice & Viewpoint. She is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in African-American/Black Studies at Clark Atlanta University.
