This is your USD News Minute.

USD has received $4 million to continue the “Bridging the Gap” program for high school STEM students funded by the ALSAM Foundation. The objective of the program which began in 2010 is to inspire students who are interested in STEM majors and careers and help them acquire the academic and research fundamentals they need for success in college.

The Hahn School of Nursing and Health Sciences has also been awarded a $1.6 million grant from the Office of Statewide Health Planning and Development (OSHPD). For the next four years, four USD Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner students will receive free clinical training at Family Health Centers of San Diego.

A big thank you goes out to the Information Technology Services department at USD for helping to make our remote learning model a success.  One of their many contributions is the Faculty Teaching Studio, equipped with HD cameras, lighting and microphones so faculty can use the stations on their own. Visit their website to learn more about this amazing space.

As always thank you for watching! Stay safe, stay healthy, have a blessed thanksgiving and we’ll see you next week.
