This is your USD News Minute.

This year’s Changemaker Challenge focusing on addressing homelessness is in the books. Over 200 students used their imagination to generate ideas that can help address this urgent challenge. Four ideas were selected by our community partners, Think Dignity and Path, to be piloted in the spring.

Speaking of challenges, on Friday at the Fowler Business Concept Challenge, 16 student entrepreneurs pitched their business concept to a panel of judges including San Diego’s most respected business leaders and our local community. At stake were thousands of dollars in scholarships with a $15,000 prize for the winner. Find out who came out on top on their website.

And because we can’t get enough winning, our USD student media teams took home several awards from the San Diego Press Club. Eli Roberts walked away with first and second place, while Victoria Holmes and Alexandra Karos also took home 1st place for USD TV. Meanwhile, Eric Boose nabbed his first place award representing the USD Vista.

As always thank you for watching, we’ll see you next week.
