SAN DIEGO (September 16, 2020) – University of San Diego (USD) School of Law Alumni Association Board of Directors member Dylan Aste, ’11 (JD), received the Federal Bar Association's 2020 Younger Federal Lawyer Award. 

Acceptance Speech

Aste received the award at the 2020 Federal Bar Association's virtual annual meeting held September 8 - 11. The Federal Bar Association’s Younger Lawyers Division (YLD) sponsors this annual award. The YLD is comprised of members who are 40 years of age and younger. The YLD is the FBA’s largest division, representing almost one-fourth of the FBA’s total membership with more than 4,000 members.

The YLD hosts the annual Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition, U.S. Supreme Court Admissions Ceremony, Summer Law Clerk Program, and Rising Professionals Symposium.

Aste is an Assistant U.S. Attorney and prosecutes civil matters for the U.S. government in federal court where he has recovered more than $50 million and has twice received a certificate of commendation from the Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for outstanding performance and invaluable assistance in support of the activities of the Civil Rights Division.
