Hi I’m Lissette Martinez and this is a special edition of your USD News Minute.

USD is in transition as we continue to respond to the ongoing public health crisis. Classes across the university are on pause for the week while students in campus housing move off campus and while professors are busy preparing for remote learning. Classes will resume online on Monday, March 23.

Now the university is offering resources to support students moving off-campus or back home. If you need to donate or store belongings, contact a member of the residential life staff. USD Tram Services is offering rides to the San Diego Airport daily from 6 am to 9 pm. Students who are facing unforeseen hardships due to relocation can also submit requests for needs-based aid. The deadline to apply online is March 16 at 5 p.m.

The Finance Office will be arranging prorated reimbursement credits of room and board and parking charges; all other fees are being evaluated with the input from the Associated Student Government.

Professors and students can visit the ITS website for training on remote learning technology such as Zoom web conferencing and Blackboard.

As this situation continues to unfold, we will have more information for you, please visit the university’s Coronavirus website often, for the most up to date communication from the COVID-19 task force at sandiego.edu/coronavirus.
