USD European Alumni: Valencia, Madrid Host June 28-July 1 Reunion Weekend

Valencia, Spain for 2019 European Alumni ReunionThe 25th anniversary USD European Alumni Reunion weekend takes place in Valencia, Spain on June 28-30. There will also be a July 1 day trip to Madrid for those interested in attending.

Attention all University of San Diego alumni living and working overseas, particularly in Europe and to get even more specific, in Spain. Representatives from your alma mater have arrived and they’ve planned a wonderful weekend for you to join up with them, meet and network with other alumni, current USD administrators and to have some fun.  

The annual USD European Alumni Weekend, which celebrates its 25th anniversary on the weekend of June 28-30 in Valencia, Spain — with a bonus day trip on July 1 in Madrid — is full of wonderful opportunities to enjoy and explore some of the best that these cities have to offer.

The weekend hosts in Valencia are Luis Massieu ’97 and Marta Catala. Jorge V. Pardo ’10 (LLM), president of the USD European Alumni Chapter, will be present as well. Representing the University of San Diego is Claudia I. Gonzales ’99, ’03 (MA), who is the director of International Engagement and Alumni Outreach. Among USD administrators scheduled to attend are College of Arts and Sciences Dean, Dr. Noelle Norton, and Rick Virgin, USD’s vice president for University Advancement.

Friday, 28 June 2019

8 p.m.: Welcome Reception – La Cambra de Ricard Camarena ($50 per person).

Saturday, 29 June 2019

10 a.m.: Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias and Oceanogràfic Tour ($40 per person).

1 p.m.: Official Reunion Reception – Paella on the Beach (Hosted by Office of Alumni Relations).

8 p.m.:  Cañas and Tapas Crawl (No Host).

Sunday, 30 June 2019

10:30 a.m.: Sunday Mass — San Nicolás de Bari and San Pedro Mártir.

11:30 a.m.: La Lonja de la Seda y Plaza de la Virgen Tour ($10 per person).

1:15 p.m.: Colegio del Arte Mayor de la Seda Tour and Lunch ($30 per person)

After 5 p.m.: Relocate to Madrid.

Monday, 1 July 2019

9 a.m.-6 p.m.: Visit to USD Madrid Center, Day Trip to Alcalá de Henares ($40 per person).

Host hotels for the European Alumni reunion guests are Hotel Melia Plaza in Valencia and Petit Palace Savoy Alfonso XII in Madrid.
