USD Parents to Help Family in Need

Parents of USD students have come together to create USD Parent Corps, a group dedicated to compassionate service. The Parent Corps will support philanthropic efforts and further align themselves with USD’s mission and Changemaker Campus efforts. USD parents are demonstrating their passion to make a difference in the local community and beyond.

Renda Quinn, director of Parent Relations, said “It is evident with the USD parent involvement in philanthropy that they have modeled the act of giving back to their students who exemplify global USD Changemakers in numerous ways; before, during and after their experience at USD.”

The USD Parent Corps will participate in their first community service effort, partnering with Rebuilding Together, on Thursday, May 23, 2013. USD parents will join together to clean up, repair and paint a home for a family in need. The goal of USD Parent Corps is to conduct an annual community service event coordinated by the USD Parent Board and volunteers.
