Justine Rapp Wins 2014 Innovation in Experiential Education Award

Assistant Professor of Marketing, Justine Rapp, has won the 2014 Innovation in Experiential Education Award for two experiential learning projects she developed for her Digital Marketing and Social Media course. These projects provide the necessary link between consumer theory and business practice. Students work with non-profit organizations to create paid advertising campaigns that are run on Google throughout the semester. Students develop ad campaigns and make decisions based on data collected through the Google platform. They also work with 6 small businesses in the San Diego area in developing a digital marketing portfolio. Students are required to meet with clients one-on-one to gain a comprehensive understanding of their business offerings, subsequently developing a complete digital marketing package.

The award includes a $500 honorarium and an opportunity to present her work at a university-wide event (Fall 2014).
