This is your USD News Minute.
The internationally renowned "Angels Unawares" sculpture, similar to the sculpture commissioned by Pope Francis for St. Peter’s Square—will be arriving at USD. Thanks to an anonymous donor, this 8-foot sculpture will be located in front of the Kroc School of Peace Studies. Its message, inspired by the Bible, calls us to show acts of hospitality to strangers, a core value of our university. Join us for the dedication on Thursday, December 18th. The day begins with Mass at Founders Chapel at 12:15 p.m. presided over by the most reverend Michael M. Pham, bishop of San Diego followed by the dedication ceremony at 1:00 p.m.
Come support our basketball teams at their non conference back to back games taking place on December 13 and 14. USD Athletics is partnering up with Genuine Car Club for a Toy Drive benefiting the Lemon Grove Early Childhood Education Center. Bring a new, unwrapped toy and get in for FREE. Vintage cars will also be on display outside the game.
And, Friday, December 12 will be the last day to catch the Harry Sternberg: Dance of the Machine exhibition at the Hoehn Family Galleries in Founders Hall. We're also delighted to share these wonderful images of our annual Christmas tree lighting celebration and our Virgin of Guadalupe Mass, both touching traditions that took place on campus this week.
As always, thank you for watching and we’ll see you next week.
