The College of Arts and Sciences Marketing Team Earns Prestigious CASE Award

The marketing team in the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of San Diego won the Council for Advancement & Support of Education (CASE) “Best of District VII Award” for their video Chapman Family Foundation International Program at USD: Japan 2023 in the Fundraising and Stewardship category.
Filmed and produced by Marketing and Communications Director Michelle Kennedy and edited by Creative Manager Tanya Aubin, this video captures the essence of this experiential learning opportunity in Kyoto and Tokyo Japan over spring break 2023. During this trip, Kennedy conducted interviews while walking with students to various historical landmarks and lectures to document their raw reactions to international climate policy and the differences between individualist and collectivist cultures.
A part of the Chapman Family Foundation International Program, the two classes, Intercultural Communication (led by Professor of Communication Leeva Chung, PhD) and Politics in the Environment (led by Associate Professor of Political Science and International Relations Andrew Tirrell, PhD, JD), focused much of their attention on Japan throughout the spring semester. They were able to take this trip because of the generous support of the Chapman Family Foundation.
The video not only showcases to prospective students and parents what our students can experience at USD, but it also encapsulates the incredible activities and learning that happened on the trip.
