Music Alum Spotlight: Basil Considine named a Top 30 Mover & Shaper by Musical America

University of San Diego Music alum Basil Considine has been named a Top 30 Professional "Mover & Shaper" by Musical America. Basil graduated from USD with a degree in Music in 2003 and went to receive a Master's degree in sacred music and composition from the Boston University School of Theology and a Ph.D. in music and drama from Boston University. He has enjoyed tremendous success as founder and director of Really Spicy Opera, which he began in Boston and relocated to Minneapolis in 2013 and carries out multiple national and international tours annually. Recent productions include award-winning sold-out shows at the Tampa International Fringe Festival and Minnesota Fringe Festival. And beginning in January, 2018, he will be a visiting professor at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga teaching music and theater. Congratulations to Basil on his continuing success!
