On Oct.11, University of San Diego students and alumni from all over Europe gathered at the USD Madrid Center in Spain for our Seven-by-Seven Madrid event where seven accomplished alumni shared their inspiring stories in seven-minute presentations delivered in a TED Talk-style.

The evening began with an introduction by Denise Dimon, associate provost for international affairs and professor of economics at the USD School of Business, and continued with a lively networking session that brought together the Torero global community including students, alumni, faculty, staff, and more.

Following the networking reception, attendees gathered to listen to the event's alumni speakers share their global personal journeys in entrepreneurship, finance, law, and banking. Speakers included: Leonie Sandelbaum, The Worldly Maven; Oliver Dziggel, The Deliberate Chameleon; Giovanni Marsano, The Financial Nomad; Ines Xavier Griffith, The Risk Taker; Ricardo Mesquita, The Lifelong Learner; Joaquin Capel, The Ambitious Dreamer; and Jennifer Varsak, The Community Builder. Each and every one of these alumni have ignited tremendous impact in our global community.

"It was a great day to be a Torero! I am so proud to be part of this incredible international network. What an honor to hear the incredible stories of leadership, innovation and creativity from our alumni. It was fun to connect with old friends, as well as make new friends," shared Regina Bernal, entrepreneurship manager at the USD School of Business.

Seven-by-Seven Madrid was organized in a joint effort by the USD School of Business, USD International Center, College of Arts and Sciences, Career Development Center, and the Office of Alumni Relations.
