The University of San Diego School of Business and the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate (BMC) is excited to welcome the 16th cohort of the Master of Science in Real Estate (MSRE) program.

In late Aug., the MSRE students attended MSRE 500, The Real Estate Process. This five-day, intensive course is designed to introduce the incoming cohort to the MSRE program, the University, the real estate industry and the San Diego community. Students honed in on their finance and Excel skills, engaged with a number of industry and alumni panels and toured one of the newly developed Westfield UTC Residential Towers.

The incoming cohort consists of 17 new students (11 full-time and six part-time) who join six returning part-time students for their second year of the program. The MSRE cohort hail from four different countries—Germany, Australia, China and the U.S. Many of the students have previous real estate industry experience and other students are entrepreneurs, members of the military and family business operators. The students have diverse undergraduate backgrounds, including education, marketing, international business,  psychology, history and entrepreneurship. Learn more about our MSRE students.

On Sept. 3, the USD School of Business and the BMC held a reception to welcome the new MSRE cohort. Attendees included current and returning MSRE students; real estate faculty, the Burnham-Moores Center and the graduate programs team from the USD School of Business; USD real estate alumni; members of the BMC Real Estate and policy advisory board committees; and supporters from the real estate industry.

The event brought a few surprises, including two visiting llamas (who claimed to be interested in the MSRE program). The animals were a surprise for Ashley Adams, a huge llama lover, who will be leaving the BMC in mid-September to pursue a new career endeavor.

The real estate faculty and BMC team look forward to supporting our graduate students as they build their futures in real estate.
