CBRE Summer Real Estate Interns from the University of San Diego School of Business

University of San Diego School of Business real estate students and alumni have an exceptional track record of success in building their real estate careers with CBRE. In June, John Frager, executive managing director at CBRE San Diego and North Baja Mexico, shared with the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate that CBRE hired two recent USD alumni Grant Geiger ‘19 and Lauren Fuller ‘19 to full time positions as research analysts.

Additionally, after three successful years of the Sales Internship Program at CBRE, the program was back for a fourth year this summer with nearly 130 interns across ten markets. This internship initiative was part of a national effort to select and train CBRE interns. Based on the program's success in CBRE’s Dallas, GLA/OC, Phoenix, Seattle, San Diego and Atlanta markets, CBRE added D.C., Houston, Detroit and Denver to the program this year.

The Sales Internship Program is an offering of CBRE Ascent. The program’s mission is to prepare talented professionals to start and build successful commercial real estate careers at CBRE. CBRE Ascent is sponsored and supported by Sales Management, the Americas Producer Advisory Board (APAB), and its local San Diego leadership team. One benefit of the Sales Internship Program is Kick Start for Interns, an online curriculum that helps CBRE interns learn more about the real estate industry, company and general business best practices.

The 2019 CBRE San Diego interns joined the company on June 10 and worked through August 2. According to CBRE, only 13 talented interns were selected for the San Diego office from more than 3,500 applicants nationally, using a rigorous selection process. Each intern brought a variety of skills to CBRE and worked closely with CBRE teams to support business development activities and deal execution while gaining valuable industry experience.

Of the 13 interns selected, five were from the University of San Diego School of Business, including: Lila Gornick '20, Hollen Herbst '20, Juliana Light '19, Charles Joyce '20 and Hannah Schraeger '20.
