Shane Isdaner '20 MSRE at the California Homebuilding Foundation Scholarship Recipient

In May, Shane Isdaner '20 MSRE was awarded the California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame (CHF) Scholarship, winning $10,000. This is just one of many scholarships which University of San Diego School of Business real estate students are encouraged to apply for through the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate’s external scholarship process. Shane was also the recipient of the California Homebuilding Foundation Harry Summers Endowment Scholarship in Fall 2018 and the James Previti Family Foundation Scholarship in February 2019.

“I am honored to have been selected by the CHF as a Hall of Fame Scholarship recipient,” says Shane. “This award is truly a reflection of the support I've received from both the BMC and my employer, IDS Real Estate Group. Both organizations have provided a strong foundation on which I can continue to build in my new career in real estate. Having worked in construction management in the building industry for several years, I am very excited for what my future holds. I am humbled to have shared the stage with such accomplished industry professionals. I will do my best to make the CHF proud of its selection.”

Shane and Stath Karras, executive director of the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate, attended the 35th Anniversary of the CHF Hall of Fame Gala in San Francisco on May 29. The Hall of Fame was created in 1985 by the California Homebuilding Foundation to pay tribute to individuals whose professional and philanthropic achievements have enhanced construction and development in California. More than 230 men and women have been inducted into the homebuilding Hall of Fame. Their enrichment of the homebuilding industry has touched upon thousands of lives throughout California, the U.S. and abroad. Read the biographies of past Hall of Fame honorees. Honorees take center-stage at this enchanting dinner and awards program to share family, friend and career experiences in a heartfelt and emotional address. Celebrate the Hall of Fame class of 2019.

“We congratulate Shane and are very proud of his accomplishments,” says Stath Karras, executive director of the Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate. “I was able to attend the Hall of Fame gala event this year, where Shane and two other honorees received significant scholarship awards.

Three Burnham-Moores Center for Real Estate’s policy advisory board members, Stephen Doyle, Ian Gill and James Previti (who also attended the gala this year), were previously inducted into California Homebuilding Foundation Hall of Fame.

“The MSRE program really has been a life and career-changing experience,” says Shane. “Both the BMC team and the professors are incredibly invested in our success as students and it is really an honor to represent the program.”
