USD School of Business marketing major, Erika Gonzalez, shares a bit about her favorite classes and her go-to snack for busy on-campus days:

What career path are you planning to pursue after graduation?

After graduation, I’m planning to pursue jobs as a marketing communications coordinator, marketing event coordinator, or in human resources, but no concrete plans quite yet. One thing I know for sure is I will be going on a trip with my best friend to the Yucatan Peninsula!

What has been your favorite marketing class so far, and why?

It’s hard to pick just one favorite class because I truly enjoyed a couple of them. International B2B Marketing with Professor O’Neal because it was discussion-based and we had the opportunity to bring in real-world examples and talk about them in class. I also really enjoyed Strategic Marketing with Professor Soma because the simulation was really integrative.

What brand, store, or product can you not live without?

A store I couldn’t live without is definitely Target. I’m always there! It has always been my go-to store, I always go with a list but end up buying a lot more than I actually needed... but then again, who doesn’t, right?

Have you had an internship and if so, where? Tell us a little bit about it.

I had a social media internship with Kaizen Brain Center in La Jolla in the fall of my junior year. It was a great opportunity for me as a marketing and psychology major, to be able to integrate information I have learned in classes into an internship. I was in charge of creating newsletters to send out to the clinic’s patients as well as going to events with the doctors to document the events on social media. I really learned a lot from this internship!

What is your go-to meal or snack on campus?

My go-to meal on campus is a Baja Chicken Sandwich and an Iced Caramel Macchiato from Tu Merc. It’s so good!
