Norm Miller's Fall Presentations and Lectures

Thursday, October 19, 2017

In September, Norm Miller, Hahn Chair of Real Estate Finance, participated in RealNex, via a webinar. His talk focused on how modern science and innovative technology can save the real estate industry from resource limitations. Within the CRE industry, the explosion of technology and data availability has resulted in a fragmented collection of various tools. The webinar included participants from across the U.S.

In October, Miller presented “Multifamily Demand Drivers through 2030 and key Economic Metrics” at the Management Exchange Group (MEG) 2017 Annual Meeting which was held in San Diego at the Manchester Grand Hyatt October 4-6. The participants at this event were family-owned multi-family real estate companies from Atlanta, Columbia (South Carolina), St. Louis, Virginia Beach, Detroit, Minneapolis, Nebraska, Tiburon (CA) and Memphis. Some of these companies own units in other state as well such as TX and DC. MEG gets together once a year to exchange ideas and talk about the multi-family real estate business. Some of the companies, have a commercial side to their business as well.

In October, Miller also submitted a new publication, entitled, “Market Equilibrium Analysis” to the Appraisal Institute. The paper has been accepted and is slated to be published in the fall 2017 edition of the Appraisal Journal.
