The parade, featuring marching bands and floats, will begin at 2 p.m. on Harbor Drive in downtown San Diego.

Transportation is provided for a limited number of USD resident students and employees to the parade, and back to campus. Those participating in this fun tradition can meet at 12:30 p.m. in front of the Hahn University Center for a ride down to the parade or join us at 1:15 p.m. in the staging area located on Harbor Drive at Grape Street.

This parade is coordinated by the Zeta Sigma Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, the oldest Black fraternity in America, founded in 1906. Dr. King was also an Alpha. This is one of the largest celebrations of its kind in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the United States. The parade is filled with dazzling floats, soulful high school bands, drill teams, colleges, fraternities, churches, organizations, peace groups and youth groups.

Participation is free. Please register today. Come and join thousands of others and help continue the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
