The following safety measures are taken to safeguard students participating in international immersion experiences led by the Mulvaney Center.
USD Insurance
USD Insurance covers student and staff medical emergencies abroad. Staff leading immersion experiences carry a copy of the USD Insurance Card.
Orientation and Code of Conduct
All students participate in an Orientation Session prior to the immersion experience to learn about the location, conduct and safety measures they need to abide by.
Assumption of Risk and Release of Liability
Students must read and complete the Release of Liability Form for Travel in Mexico.
Student’s right to Withdraw
Students participating in a Tijuana Immersion as a requirement for a class always have the option not to attend if safety is a concern. Arrangements must be made in advance with corresponding faculty.
