The APPLICATION TO GRADUATE opens. You must complete each of the following mandatory steps in order to be approved to graduate:
Failure to complete these three steps by March 31, 2017 may result in a delay in processing your approval to graduate. Please be sure to contact the appropriate department if you have questions or concerns.
|Wed.-Thurs., March 15-16, 2017||GradFest. 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. (Plaza Menor, outside the USD Torero Store). Students can place orders for caps and gowns ($25.00 rental fee), graduation announcements, class rings, diploma frames, and other memorabilia during Grad Fest at the USD Torero Store (Hahn University Center). Students may order their caps and gowns online beginning Wednesday, March 15, 2017. When ordering your regalia, please be sure to select the appropriate degree program to ensure that you get the correct regalia. The standard regalia rental includes a mortar board cap. Six point tams are available for purchase for $99 or rental for $22.95 through the USD Torero Store. Review the Grad Fest I Flyer (PDF) for additional instructions.|

|Mon., April 17, 2017 at 12 p.m.||Each year, a few graduating students are selected for membership in the prestigious Order of Barristers. You may be eligible to receive this honor, which recognizes students who have demonstrated excellence in oral advocacy and brief writing. If you think you are eligible for membership in the Order of Barristers, you should submit this brief statement of your qualifications. No other materials will be considered. Please write in bullet points, not narrative form. Your statement of qualifications is due by noon on Monday, April 17. Please submit your statement of qualifications to Professor Jean Ramirez, either in hard copy or by email (firstname.lastname@example.org). Applications will be reviewed by a nominating committee of faculty members.|

Stop by and pick up your cap and gown while enjoying food, music, and a festive atmosphere. If you are unable to attend GradFest II, caps and gowns can be picked up in the Torero Store (Hahn University Center) beginning Friday, April 28, 2017 during regular bookstore hours. Please refer to the Law School Regalia Information page (PDF) when picking up your regalia to ensure that you are receiving the correct regalia.|

Each year a graduating student receives the Community Defenders Award for his or her demonstrated commitment to indigent criminal defense. If think you might be qualified to receive this award, please submit your application as a single PDF to Professor Jean Ramirez (email@example.com) by noon on Monday, May 1. Please read the memo for the list of requirements you must submit in your Community Defenders Award application.

|Fri., May 19, 2017||Attend the Law School Commencement Mass at 4 p.m. in Founders Chapel. If you or your family are interested in volunteering at the mass, please contact the Office for Law Student Affairs.|
|Sat., May 20, 2017||Attend the Commencement Ceremony from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at the Jenny Craig Pavilion. No tickets necessary. Arrive for line-up by 8 a.m. The Commencement Reception follows in the University Center, Forums A, B and C. The commencement ceremony will be webcast live and replays will be available for one week following the ceremony.|
