Policy and Administrative Resources

The Pardee Legal Research Center is currently open only to current students, faculty, and staff of the University of San Diego using their Torero ID Card, available from Campus Card Services. Face masks must be worn at all times inside the LRC, consistent with USD policy. Eating and drinking are currently prohibited in the LRC. Please see our LRC Access and Study Rooms Guide for additional information on COVID policies.

FDLP users: You may access many online FDLP resources by searching the library catalog. Many federal materials are online at https://www.govinfo.gov/. The LRC will provide full access again as soon as possible. Other federal depositories may be located here: Federal Depository Library Directory.

Review the LRC's policies below for circulating materials, the collection of specific types of materials, its computer lab policy, food and drink rules, information on interlibrary loan, and the availability of checking out computers.

Depository Collection Information

As a federal depository since 1967, we accept the responsibility to make documents selected for the collection available to the public. The LRC receives a variety of government documents from the U.S. Government Printing Office.

Items selected are approximately 11% of the materials distributed by the U.S. Government Printing Office. Collection strengths include: law and jurisprudence, legislative and regulatory materials, court and judicial administration, international trade, public finance and taxation. In addition to receiving U.S. documents, the LRC collects state documents as a California selective depository library. The LRC is open to the public for the use of the federal and California documents. Documents chosen for the LRC are cataloged and integrated into the general collection.
