Professor Beresford teaches legal writing and research. 

Professional Experience

Beresford is a partner with Opper & Varco LLP, where she practices environmental law, specializing in the redevelopment of brownfields properties, including advising clients on acquisition of contaminated properties, working with regulators to implement clean up strategies for brownfields sites, and negotiating terms for redevelopment projects involving contaminated properties. 

Honors and Affiliations

Beresford graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, where she was an associate editor of Ecology Law Quarterly and director of the Public Interest Task Force. She is a member of the Order of the Coif. Beresford clerked for the Honorable James F. Stiven of the United States District Court for the Southern District of California. She is a member of the Federal Bar Association, the San Diego County Bar Association, and is a former member of the Louis M. Welsh Inn of Court. Beresford is also a member of the California Redevelopment Association Brownfields Committee.
