Professional Experience
David Bowen has been a Professor of Practice at the USD School of Law since 2018. He teaches a variety of tax courses including International Tax, Corporate Tax, Transfer Pricing and Tax Methods. Before joining the USD School of Law, Professor Bowen taught for 14 years as a Professorial Lecturer at the George Washington University Law School and served as an Adjunct Professor in the Graduate Tax Program at University of Florida Levin College of Law.
Professor Bowen most recently served as the National Managing Principal for Transfer Pricing Services at Grant Thornton LLP in Washington, D.C. He has also worked as a Special Counsel to the IRS Associate Chief Counsel (International) in Washington, D.C., and as an Attorney-Advisor to Chief Judge Samuel B. Sterrett and Judge Joel Gerber of the United States Tax Court. Professor Bowen has over 35 years of private-practice experience, primarily with large international law firms (including Baker & McKenzie) in the areas of tax and general litigation, dispute avoidance, and dispute resolution.
