Kevin Sherrill graduated from California State University San Marcos with his B.A. in History.  Sherrill then attended Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where he served as the chief research editor for the Loyola of Los Angeles Entertainment Law Review.  Shortly after graduating with his JD, he was admitted to practice law in California.

After graduation, Sherrill served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ellen Carroll in Unites States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California.  Building upon that experience, Sherrill worked in consumer and commercial bankruptcy, while also developing state court litigation skills.

In 2011, Sherrill left private practice to pursue a career in legal education.  From 2011-2012, he worked for Southwestern Law School in their bar support program, and in May 2012 he became an adjunct professor at the University of La Verne College of Law.  Sherrill was hired as a full-time member of La Verne’s staff in 2013, where he served as an assistant professor in the Center for Academic and Bar Readiness.

At La Verne, Sherrill specialized in preparing students for the California bar exam while providing academic support assistance to first and second year students. He joined USD in June 2017 and is excited to be back in his hometown of San Diego.

Professional Experience

Sherrill is the director of academic success and bar programs at the University of San Diego School of Law. Prior to joining USD, Sherrill served as a law clerk for the Honorable Ellen Carroll in United States Bankruptcy Court, Central District of California and later worked in consumer and commercial bankruptcy, while also developing state court litigation skills., From 2011-2012, he worked for Southwestern Law School in its bar support program, and in May 2012 he became an adjunct professor at the University of La Verne College of Law. Sherrill was hired as a full-time member of La Verne’s staff in 2013, where he served as an assistant professor in the Center for Academic and Bar Readiness.

Professor Sherrill teaches Fundamentals of Bar Exam Writing and Legal Analysis of Evidence.
