Academic Success 1L Practice Session Series

Practice makes better! Join Academic Success and Bar Programs for a series of Practice Workshops. Each Practice Workshop will provide second-semester 1Ls with an opportunity to complete and review practice problems specifically chosen for their section. Along the way, we will share tips and tricks for improving organization, analysis, multiple choice skills, and more. If you are unable to attend the workshop live, you can access a recording on TWEN!


Workshop #1 - Case Reading and Briefing

Join ASBP for the opportunity to learn and practice some strategies for reading cases more efficient and effective. This Workshop will also cover strategies for drafting accurate and concise case briefs.

Workshop #2: Time Management & Effective Study Strategies

Failing to plan is planning to fail! Get off to the right start by joining Academic Success and Bar Programs and learn how to create an effective study schedule that maximizes opportunities for learning, memorization, and practice throughout the semester.

Workshop #3: Outlining

A good outline is worth its weight in gold (especially when it comes time for exams)! Join Academic Success and Bar Programs at the Outlining Workshop to learn the “why,” “when,” and “how,” of creating outlines for your casebook courses.

Workshop #4: From Outlining to IRAC

Much of exam success is dependent on how well you spot and handle issues. The infamous “IRAC” is a valuable took to aid in the organization of analysis. Join Academic Success and Bar Programs to learn to create prewriting outlines for essay exams and unravel the mysteries of IRAC and sub-IRAC.

Workshop #5: Essay Writing (Analysis)

It’s no coincidence that “analysis” starts with an “A.” This is where most points on essay exam tend to be earned or lost. Join Academic Success and Bar Programs to review strategies for making your analysis the best in can be. This workshop will cover strategies for drafting inferential reasoning, raising and explaining ambiguities, and more.
