If you are not a member of a paid division, you will need to provide a cost center code to get started with Qualtrics at USD. Send your inquiry to qualtrics@sandiego.edu and indicate the number of staff members in your division who will need Qualtrics access. The cost of opting in for this cost-sharing depends on the size of the school/department (the range varies between $500 for a 3-5 person account, and up to $2,000 for a large unit).
Instructions
Log In
Log in to Qualtrics with your USD One username and password. The first time you log in to Qualtrics, your Qualtrics account will be auto-generated. Agree to the USD Qualtrics Terms of Use, when prompted.
Welcome to Qualtrics
You will then get a “Welcome to Qualtrics” page but the Create new project button will be grayed out and you will not be able to create a new project.
Faculty Support
It is at this point that your request for a Qualtrics account will be emailed by Qualtrics to FacultySupport@sandiego.edu. Faculty Support will verify you are part of a participating division and, if you are, approve your request. You will then get an email saying you can now log in with your USD One credentials.
If your division does not participate in Qualtrics your request will be denied and you will receive an email you telling how to proceed with your request. NOTE: Please keep in mind, if you already have a Qualtrics account created prior to this request via www.qualtrics.com, that account will not be associated in any way with your USD Qualtrics account.
Support
Account login problems are supported through the Help Desk. All other support for Qualtrics is provided by the vendor by going to www.qualtrics.com/university.
When logged in to your Qualtrics account, you can use the Help and Tutorials link to access extensive online training materials. Email and phone contact information for individual support is also provided.
If you are collaborating surveys with someone with SSO from outside of your organization, then you can share with any email address that user has access to. They will receive a secure *collaboration code*, log into the Qualtrics account of their choice, and enter the code.
See Qualtrics Collaborating on Projects page for more details.
