OPTION #1 - USD’s EC500 Extension to Cellular (remote access)
Turn on or off this feature from either on- or off-campus.
The EC500 feature bridges your cellular telephone number with your USD office number. This is not a transfer where your phone rings on your office phone first and then forwards to your cell phone; instead, both will ring at the same time.
If you wish to use this feature, email telecom@sandiego.edu to set up and configure EC500. Please provide your cell phone and USD extension number.
NOTE: Please be aware that the use of this feature may incur additional cellular charges or fees due to
- Airtime
- Long distance
- Roaming
- Off-network
When You Are Onsite
- To activate: Press the EC500 button on your desk phone. You will see a light or indicator that the feature is active.
- To deactivate: Press the EC500 button and the light or indicator will turn off.
When You are Not On Campus From Your Cell Phone (Offsite)
- To activate: From your cell phone, dial the following activation number: 1-619-849-8402. You will hear 3 confirmation beeps and then hang up.
- To deactivate: From your cell phone, dial the following deactivation number: 1-619-849-8403. You will hear 3 confirmation beeps and then hang up.
Note: Send-all calls (SAC) button cannot be activated on your deskphone when using EC500
- Note: You can create a contact on your cell phone with the call access numbers listed above to turn EC500 on and off.
OPTION #2 - Direct Call Forwarding (Cannot activate or deactivate remotely)
Turn on or off this feature from your office phone only.
To temporarily redirect all calls to a phone number offsite
1. From your desk phone dial the call forward code *2 [dial tone]
2. Dial the offsite phone number starting with 9-1-xxx-xxx-xxxx [confirmation tone]
To temporarily redirect all calls to a USD extension number of your choice
1. From your desk phone dial the call forward code *2. [dial tone]
2. Dial the extension where calls will be sent [confirmation tone]
3. Hang up.
To cancel Call Forwarding
1. Dial the Call Forward Cancel code #2. [confirmation tone]
Note: Send-all calls (SAC) button cannot be activated on your deskphone when using Call Forwarding.
Call Pickup
To answer a call to a member of your pickup group when your telephone is idle
1. Dial the Call Pickup code #4.
Last Number Dialed (Redial)
To redial the last number that you dialed
1. Press <Redial>.
