ACTR/ACCELS Grants- Partial funding provided to support language training in Russian and other East European and Central Asian languages on study abroad programs sponsored by ACTR/ACCELS.
American Swedish Institute - ASI is committed to removing financial barriers to our programs for anyone who needs assistance; any individual may apply for up to $400 of financial assistance per year. ASI also warmly welcome students from under-represented backgrounds into all Nordic Handcraft, Nordic Table, and Language classes at a reduced tuition cost. Other opportunities include the Cultivating Nordic Craft: Teaching Tools Grant and Lilly Lorénzen Scholarship.
Association of American Study Abroad Programs UK- In 2012 AASAP/UK launched the Lord Acton Memorial Scholarship for study abroad students coming to the UK. Lord Acton was AASAP/UK’s first Honorary President, serving in this capacity from 2006 until his untimely death in 2010. His professional career included work as a banker, barrister, human rights campaigner, writer and politician. He sat in the House of Lords as both a life and hereditary peer on the Labour benches. He was a champion of international educational and cultural exchange, and offered invaluable assistance and guidance to AASAP/UK.
British Universities Transnational Exchange (BUTEX) Scholarship - Each year BUTEX awards a number of scholarships to students studying abroad for a semester or a whole academic year, and students undertaking an overseas work/internship/traineeship placement of varying lengths of time. The value of each scholarship is £500. This will be paid to the winners once they have arrived and registered at their host university, or confirmation of a placement already completed has been received.
German Academic Exchange Service Scholarships- DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) North America offers nine different types of scholarships for students studying in Germany. They range from awards for 4-10 months of study, full academic years, seniors, and to students interested in German Studies and the German Parliament.
HACU Study Abroad Scholarship Programs- HACU: The Hispanic Association of Colleges & Universities has partnered with several study abroad providers to provide scholarships for students at HACU-member institutions to participate in a number of programs around the world. In addition to the scholarship, a student can ordinarily apply federal financial aid (Pell Grant, Stafford Loan, and PLUS loan) toward a study abroad program.
IAU College, Aix-En-Provence Scholarships- IAU College offers several work-study and scholarship opportunities, including a Pell Grant Plus Program for USD semester participants. Students who receive a federal Pell Grant as part of their USD financial aid package will have their semester award matched by IAU. For example, if a student's annual Pell Grant Award is $6,000 (aka $3,000 award per semester), IAU will apply a $3,000 reduction towards the student's housing expense. Additional merit, need-based, and diversity scholarship opportunities can be found on their website. Students must be partaking in the Aix-en-Provence semester program through USD to be eligible for any IAU scholarship.
King’s College London Study Abroad Excellence Awards- Each semester five King’s Study Abroad Excellence Awards will be available to our most distinguished Study Abroad students in the arts, humanities and social sciences. Awards are worth up to £3,500 and made to candidates of outstanding quality, who can best demonstrate how their time at King’s builds on their academic record, and how it will help fulfill their personal and academic ambitions.
King Olav V Norwegian-American Heritage Fund Scholarship- The Sons of Norway Foundation is sponsoring scholarships to Americans college students, 17 years or older, with a plan of studies to focus on exploring his/her interest in Norwegian heritage or in modern Norway at an institution of higher learning.
Rhodes Scholarships for Oxford University- Welcome to the website of the American Rhodes Scholarships. The Rhodes Scholarships are the oldest and most celebrated international fellowship awards in the world. Each year 32 young Americans are selected as Rhodes Scholars, through a decentralized process representing the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Applicants from more than 300 American colleges and universities have been selected as Rhodes Scholars.
Royal Holloway, University of London Scholarship- Royal Holloway offers an exceptional range of grants and scholarships to financially assist undergraduate students commencing their studies in 2012. Awards will vary depending on a student’s current residential and fee status. The scholarships provide a cash award or a reduction in tuition fees for successful applicants.
St. Clare’s Oxford Study Abroad Scholarship- This need-based scholarship is available to USD students studying abroad at St. Clare’s, Oxford University. All St. Clare's semester applicants are reviewed for eligibility by the International Center (in collaboration with the Office of Financial Aid). Please contact Kanani Meheula for more information.
USD Sulzmann Summer Language Scholarship - This is a merit-based scholarship worth $500. Applicants must be attending a summer language course abroad offered by the International Center. There is a brief application and letter of recommendation requirement. Application Deadline: March, the same date as the summer program application deadline.
USD French Endowed Scholarship - This scholarship was established by Professor Jeanne Rigsby and provides an annual scholarship to a French major who takes part in the programs at Avignon, Toulon, or Aiz-en-Provence.
