USD Celebrates International Education Week Nov. 14-18
Saturday, November 12, 2016
The United States Department of Education and the U.S. Department of State have a joint, week-long initiative in which they recognize the global exchange environment between the U.S. and other countries. Each November, the two co-host International Education Week. In 2016, the IEW will be held Nov. 14-18 throughout the U.S, including at the University of San Diego.
The University of San Diego, annually one of the nation’s top-ranked universities for undergraduate study abroad participation, has a robust international student and scholar population and many resources, such as centers, institutes, degrees and programs within its schools to provide all USD students opportunities for global education experiences.
This coming week, USD joins the IEW celebration by offering a plethora of international education events including a kickoff luncheon, speakers, film screenings, a study abroad fair, strategic workshops and, at the end of the week, the International Student Organization hosts its annual holiday dinner and dance from 7-9 p.m. on Nov. 18 in the UC Forums.
USD’s luncheon includes the announcement of the International Impact Award, given annually to USD faculty and/or staff members, an International 5x5 event featuring international faculty members, and more.
