Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship- The purpose of the Foundation is to provide a continuing source of highly qualified scientists, mathematicians, and engineers by awarding scholarships to college students who intend to pursue careers in these fields.
Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship- The Gilman Scholarship Program offers awards for undergraduate study abroad and was established by the International Academic Opportunity Act of 2000. This scholarship provides awards for U.S. undergraduate students who are receiving Federal Pell Grant funding at a two-year or four-year college or university to participate in study abroad programs worldwide.
The Diversity Abroad/AIFS Foundation offers $500 scholarships for fall and spring study abroad. Five scholarships are available for each semester. Economically disadvantaged students, first-generation, students with disabilities and ethnic and racial diverse students are strongly encouraged to apply.

Fund for Education Abroad- FEA was created in order to open doors for deserving education abroad students. Starting with the 2011-2012 academic year, FEA will award funds for students planning to study abroad on any academically rigorous program. Go Overseas- The Go Overseas Study Abroad Scholarship is open to all current or aspiring study abroad students. Scholarships are awarded each year. The scholarship is awarded based on the creativity and analytical thinking displayed through writing samples, photos, and/or video submissions.
International Student Loan- International Student Loan assists students by offering access to a range of international student loans, foreign-enrolled loans and study abroad loans to international students and Canadian students in the USA and for US students studying abroad around the world.

NAFSA Financial Aid Overview for Study Abroad- Financial aid for undergraduate study abroad consists mainly of federal grants and federal and private loans. However, scholarship money is also available from organizations and sponsoring companies. Pulitzer Center- Students are eligible to apply for international reporting fellowships of up to $2,000 each and the opportunity to work with the Pulitzer Center staff on an international reporting project. The Pulitzer Center is interested in reporting projects that focus on topics and regions of global importance, with an emphasis on issues that have gone unreported or under-reported in the mainstream American media.
Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship- This scholarship is available to all currently enrolled, full-time criminal justice or accounting majors attending a four-year college or university.
Sara's Wish Foundation Scholarship- Sara's Wish Foundation was established to perpetuate the memory of Sara Christie Schewe, killed in a fatal bus crash in India in 1996 while participating in the University of Pittsburgh's Semester at Sea Program. Students studying abroad in non-traditional locations are encouraged to apply.
Shawn Carter Foundation Scholarship- The SCSF provides individual grants ranging from $1500 to $2500 to every student who qualifies and reapplies yearly, from admission to graduation. The grant can be used to cover tuition expenses and related supplemental educational expenses such as books, lab fees, travel and select costs of living. All Shawn Carter Scholars are required to “give back” by conducting community service and by serving as mentors to younger, aspiring Shawn Carter Scholars.
STA Travel Scholar Award- STA’s mission is to create opportunities for students and young adults to experience the world around them. The scholarships serve to help achieve that mission and give deserving students the opportunity to study abroad where they can learn just as much about themselves as the world around them. Students should have one of the following academic majors to qualify: photography, film, art, travel and tourism, international business, international studies and/or a foreign language.
The San Diego Foundation- This is the largest private scholarship provider in San Diego County outside of the university systems. In 2013 they awarded $2.2 million and nearly 800 scholarships. Only one online application is needed to access more than 100 scholarships, with awards from $1,000 to more than $5,000. They have scholarships for current college students and specifically those interested in studying abroad.
