Torero Tidbits: Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair Online April 25; University Ministry; Honors Program Colloquium

A spring tradition for the Linda Vista community, the city where the University of San Diego campus resides, is its annual Multi-Cultural Fair and Parade. This festive, fun celebration of the town’s diverse culture, its people, organizations and community pride, is preparing for its 35th year.

Although it is a milestone year and several organizations from USD are annual participants, this year, Linda Vista has scheduled two events for 2020. Due to the ongoing health pandemic caused by COVID-19, there will be a virtual event, the Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair Online Experience, this Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

As of this writing, an in-person version of the annual fair and parade is slated to take place this fall on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. with food, cultural entertainment, crafts, information services and more along Linda Vista Road, between Comstock Street and Ulric Street.

According to the event’s Facebook page, the April 25 schedule includes a Facebook Live video premiere from USD’s Hahn School of Nursing and Health Science doing a hands-only CPR demonstration and a proper glove and mask disposal at 3:30 p.m.

There will be multiple dance performances and lessons from local organizations, resource presentations by Access, Inc., and the Bayside Community Center, Traci’s Paws Pet Rescue Assistance adoption and hospitality, a message from San Diego Mesa College, and Facebook Live video premieres of Live Ride and Linda Vista Fair. For more information, check out the Linda Vista Multi-Cultural Fair Online Experience Facebook page for event entry links to the full online experience.
