Proposal Requirements

REQUIRED COMPONENTS OF PRE-PROPOSAL

  • Proposal Title, Contact Person and email, Name of Affiliated Dean or Vice President
  • Description of problem or opportunity that supports USD’s strategic goals and pathways
  • While open to proposals in all areas, this year we are particularly interested in proposals for initiatives that focus on countering anti-black racism specifically and racial injustice more generally while incorporating one or more of the following identified Urgent Challenges of today: homelessness, cross-border engagement, food justice, environmental justice, human trafficking, and/or educational equity.
  • Innovative approach of attending to a problem or opportunity
  • Integration - a cross-campus collaborative effort of stakeholders
  • Impact (unit, combination of units, institution, community)
  • Indications of success
  • Brief budget description

ADDITIONAL REQUIRED COMPONENTS OF FULL PROPOSAL

  • Required Resources - Impact on existing resources or request for new resources
  • Completed budget template
  • Feasibility, Achievability, and Measurability
  • Sustainability - Demonstrates the potential to become financially sustainable if the project is expected to continue beyond the funding period
  • Direct Benefits to the University/Return on Investment (i.e. generates institutional revenues, improves student learning and success)
  • Outcomes, Action Steps, Benchmarks/Criteria, Measures, Targeted Start and Completion Dates

RUBRIC

  • A rubric will be used to score pre and full proposals based on these components.
