The women of Kappa Alpha Theta have partnered with the Center for Awareness, Service, and Action (CASA) and Torero Renaissance Scholars (TRS) to raise awareness about the Foster Care community at USD. Portraits of USD community members connected to Foster Care will be displayed in the UCs to give a “face” to Foster Youth at USD. Foster Faces will be held on Tuesday, November 11 from 12-2 in UC Forum C. In addition to the portraits on display, Rebecca Bernhardt, and Dr. Cynthia Avery, a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), will be sharing their stories.

The primary purpose of Foster Faces is to raise awareness about Foster Youth at USD. Additionally, Foster Faces will serve as a forum to educate the USD student body about the resources available to Foster Youth in San Diego. USD students will be more aware of how they can get involved in the Foster Care community. Finally, this event will set an example for the rest of the Greek Community to intentionally inform the USD student body about their philanthropic endeavors. Kappa Alpha Theta is so excited to inform the rest of the USD community about Foster Youth at USD to highlight the importance of its philanthropy, CASA.
