Campus Recreation supports student learning by providing opportunities to be active, develop leadership skills, cultivate community, and persist in experiences proven to enhance well-being. We are committed to providing welcoming and well-maintained facilities, staffed with an emphasis on compassionate service.

We encourage individuals to put a little recreation in their life on a daily basis and support this with our motto "LEARN. LIVE. PLAY. THE RECREATION WAY."

The Intramural program is one of the best programs on campus. It's a great way to meet people and have a great time, and you might even get some fun exercise out of it, too. That's why our intramural program has such a long, storied tradition at USD.

Fun, sportsmanship, and fellowship are the goals of the Intramural program. We want you to exercise, form friendships, develop lifetime interests and appreciate diversity and inclusion through participation in intramurals.

All levels are welcome - participation is the goal. We offer multiple levels of competition, from recreational to highly competitive leagues. Many participants play more than one activity.

To join in on the fun, gather some USD friends (students, staff, faculty or alumni with alumni membership) together and . Each member must register individually and pay a $20 semester participation fee. Please note that the Intramural fee is non-refundable, as it is the fee for the entire program, not for a specific league. The fee allows you to participate in as many leagues as you want. The only exception would be due to an injury before league play began that prevented participation. A doctor’s documentation will have to be provided in order for the refund to be processed.

Recreation classes are designed for the entire campus community at USD. Classes provide students with opportunities to learn new skills and activities, to increase physical strength and fitness, and to provide a balance in daily life. By introducing and encouraging these activities, we hope that you will develop a lifelong interest in health and fitness.

The Campus Recreation department offers over 60 recreational classes each semester.

The Bradford Lee Bosley Mission Cafe and Fitness Center is an 8,515 square foot wellness focused facility located in the heart of Valley housing.

Supporting the mission and values of USD, the center promotes healthy lifestyle choices and social interaction to enhance the total student experience. This center was designed to expand opportunities to strengthen the minds, bodies and spirits of the campus community.
