Students must be awarded Federal Work-Study through their 2017-2018 Financial Aid award to be eligible to apply for the positions listed.  All positions are available for the academic year (fall and spring semesters) and located on the USD campus, unless otherwise noted.  The start date and weekly schedule will be determined at the time of hire.  Most positions offer the opportunity to work 10-15 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters.  Students may be considered for positions with additional responsibilities and higher pay rates, depending on their skills and experience.

Instructional Media Services

Job Title: Media Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Department Hours: Monday-Friday, 7:50am - 7:00pm (min 2.5 hour shift)

  • Answer phones and inquiries from library patrons as they relate to the Audio Visual Circulation Desk and Classroom equipment
  • Check in and check out audiovisual equipment
  • Reserve equipment and assist faculty, staff, and students with audiovisual equipment needs and operations
  • Properly fill out, file checkout and reservation equipment forms, and accurately enter information into the Circulation Desk computer system

Languages, Cultures and Literatures

Job Title: Student Assistant
Pay Rate: $11.50/hour
Days/Hours Needed: Thursdays and Fridays

  • Scan for materials for professors of the Spanish program
  • Input student information in databases
  • Assist visitors

  • Tidy Commons upon arrival
  • Check out and check in equipment used in the Commons
  • Keep reception tidy at all times
  • Maintain paper levels in copier and printer
