Come join the exploration of action research as a method for professional development and social change in educational and community settings. This symposium features presentations by students in the M.A. in Higher Education Leadership (MAHE) program at the University of San Diego and will include:

  • 4 concurrent sessions focusing on issues of equity, leadership, and social justice in higher education, as well as a lunch reception and awards ceremony;
  • 8 invited paper sessions featuring the work of approximately 25 continuing students who have undertaken a year-long action research project where they design, lead, implement, and evaluate a changemaking initiative in higher education; and
  • 8 three-minute talk sessions, modeled after the internationally recognized 3-minute thesis (3MT®) competition, featuring the work of approximately 30 students who will share how they plan to address the injustice that is plaguing them and their communities.

You will leave with new knowledge, skills, connections, and with a renewed sense of community and possibility!

This event is open to the public
