Celebrate your faith with fellow Torero alumni, family and friends at the annual USD Alumni Christmas Mass, then join us for a free reception in Founders Hall French Parlor.

Mass will begin with a beautiful candlelight processional, which is perfect for the Christmas season. This year's Mass celebrant will be Fr. Robert Capone '91. Also, we will be highlighting this year's recipient of the Bishop Charles Francis Buddy Award for outstanding contributions to humanitarian causes as well as this year's recipient of the Mother Rosalie Clifton Hill Award for service to USD.

The reception will feature a child-friendly cookie-decorating station, and holiday beverages such as spiced apple cider and hot chocolate.

USD Food Pantry and Torero Closet
We ask that attendees bring donations if possible to support USD's students who experience food insecurity. There are 111 students registered for pantry and closet access who are in this position and benefit from community donations of food, school and hygiene supplies, and professional clothing. In spring 2019 the pantry was visited 629 times by 48 students. In September 2019 alone, the pantry was visited 293 times by 54 students. Students seeking access to the pantry are asked about their food and housing insecurity. 22 of those asked said they could not afford rent. 13 of those asked said they have had to sleep in an abandoned building, an automobile, or another place not meant for regular housing.

As of 10/18/19 the pantry and closet are in need of the following donations:

Snacks: crackers, chips, granola bars
Beverages: almond milk, soy milk, coconut milk, and juice
Hygiene supplies: bars of soap, shampoo, conditioner, tampons and pads
Dental products: toothpaste and toothbrushes
Laundry detergent pods and dryer sheets
Gently used work attire (preferably dry cleaned)

Not able to bring something that night but want to contribute to support these students? Add a gift to your registration today to support the Torero Renaissance Scholars Program, a fund which directly supports the USD Food Pantry and Torero Closet.
