About EnergiPlant
Created in partnership with Primo Energy—and in alignment with the school's commitment to innovating projects that provide social and sustainable value for our community—the EnergiPlant is a free-standing hybrid wind/solar/storage energy platform powered 100% by renewable energy. It is composed of a collection of blades that serve as a "wind generator," "leaves" that each have a solar panel and LED lighting below, a tower where the wind/solar controller can charge a battery and a circular base.

USD’s Shiley-Marcos School of Engineering's two EnergiPlants provide the campus community with benches for study with USB charging for cameras or tablets, AC charging for laptops, LED security lighting and messaging along the bench bases to reinforce the mission of the school.
