Whether an engineer is doing design, project management or consulting, contracts are an integral part of the job across virtually all industries. Frank Tepedino will use this as a framework to discuss the following topics:

  • Basic rules of contracts (commercial law, common law)
  • Special issues with federal contracts 
  • Good faith and fair dealing 
  • Bids and bidding
  • Contract changes
  • Breach of contract
  • Evidence and email

Frank Tepedino’s educational background includes degrees in engineering, industrial management, and a Juris Doctor in Law. His industry experience includes various senior management positions for the Lockheed Corporation, General Dynamics, General Atomic, and National Steel and Shipbuilding. He also served as House Counsel for FMC Corporation. In 1983 he founded and remains as president of The Condor Group, a nationwide management training organization, though he is currently semi-retired. He served for eight years as a member and chairman of the Planning Commission for the City of Tigard, Oregon and is currently serving in a similar capacity in Tierra Santa, California. His volunteer activities include serving on a number of professional boards and organizations. He is a ship model builder and an avid model railroad hobbyist. Tepedino served as an Officer in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Merchant Marine. He is a member of the State Bars of California, Oregon, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
