AI is often surrounded by misconceptions leading to both unrealistic expectations and undue fear. Calderon will demystify common myths about AI, such as the idea that AI will replace all jobs, the notion of machines achieving consciousness, and the belief that AI systems are infallible. By breaking down these misconceptions, Calderon will highlight its true capabilities, current limitations, and the ethical challenges that need to be addressed.

As a part of the Applied AI & Data Science Graduate Student Seminar Series, each seminar features a presentation followed by a discussion, aimed at demystifying the technical complexities of AI and fostering engagement with a broad audience.

Fernando Calderon is a Senior MDR Analyst at a leading global cybersecurity company in the specialized threat intelligence and incident response division.
